Employees of Caterpillar Marine Wimborne have run marathons, shaved their heads, cycled 70 miles, and pulled a Boeing 737 weighing 35,000 kg 50 metres. They have baked cakes, held seasonal raffles, monthly squares and silent auctions.
“The charities we support are chosen by the team at Wimborne, and cancer has affected many employees, friends and families. We know the money we have raised for the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation has made a real difference to the lives of those living with cancer in Dorset,” comments Jude Castell. The money-raising actions by the employees at the Wimborne facility build upon a long history of helping the local community around the facility, where operations started 50 years ago.
