Tom Pickles has been appointed as Sales Director of Cyclops Marine with immediate effect. Pickles will be part of the innovative team at Cyclops, responsible for new sales and managing the global distribution network of their range of load sensors.
Pickles, with 15 years’ experience in the marine industry, brings with him a wealth of transferable skills from his previous role, where he managed complex custom projects through the supply of tailored equipment and relationship management. Due to the diversity of the load sensors, this role will touch various sectors of the sailing industry. The Smart Range of products are suitable for OEM’s to help maximise performance and safety of their new range of yachts. Race team campaigns use this wireless solution to provide data that will enable them to win regattas, whilst superyachts will use the sensors to measure loads and strains on their rigs.
A competitive sailor himself, Pickles understands the need and desire of people to see repeatable rig load numbers onboard that up to now they have only been able to do by feel. This is the next step in the evolution of sailing.
