Baltic have developed, in conjunction with SSRS (Swedish Rescue Service) the SAR Buoyancy aid for use in a commercial or professional capacity. The SAR has more flotation material than a conventional 50N buoyancy aid, giving 80N of buoyancy and enhanced in-water freeboard.
The SAR is equipped with an integrated safety harness which has stainless steel attachment D-rings on the front and back and a double crotch strap. To ensure that the buoyancy aid is comfortable for prolonged wear, it can be adjusted at the waistband and side, ensuring a snug fit that will not ride up.
Practical as well as comfortable, the SAR comes with a rescue grab handle on the back. It has two large fleece-lined pockets; one with a velcro closure and the other a zip. There are also two smaller divided pockets on the chest area, one of which has a whistle and the other can be used to attach equipment, for example a safety knife.
The SAR is manufactured from a bright, highly durable material and fitted with retro-reflectors front and back. There are attachment points on the chest for emergency and VHF radio.
The SAR conforms to EN ISO 12401 and EN ISO 12402 and is rated to 50Newtons
